Principal's Message

Dear Serra Families and Visitors,

Serra is a unique school.  Housed in part of the historic Capistrano Union High School campus which dates back to 1921, Serra High School is in the heart of San Juan Capistrano and serves students from throughout Capistrano Unified School District.  Serra’s logo is The Small School With a Big Heart! And that describes our school well.

With a staff of eleven full time teachers, we serve about 200 students each year.  That means we are able to offer a smaller class size, usually twenty students or less in all of our classes.  We offer all of the core graduation requirements as well as electives including our culinary arts program as well as fine arts.

Serra operates on a quarter system so students are able to earn credits at a faster pace than a traditional high school.  We tailor our program to individual student goals.  Some of our students return to their former high schools their senior year.  Others choose to stay at Serra to graduate on time or even early.  We hold graduation ceremonies at the end of each quarter.

If you are considering Serra, contact the academic advisor at your current school and let them know you are interested.  Once the application is approved, we will contact you to schedule an orientation.  We accept students at the beginning of each quarter.

If you are a current Serra family, we wish you the very best for this school year.

Dr. Meg Ervais, Principal
